On Fire and Water
What happens when you fall in love with someone you aren't allowed to fall in love with?
Her back arches in a way that none ever has,
She closes her eyes,
And sees my soul,
Burning embers of my heart,
She curves her hands,
Along her abdomen,
And leaves me breathless,
The sun does bathe her in glow
And the earth covers her steps,
The walk of her talk,
Shows her perfect body
Her beauty is of the untold
She glows of the sun
Her eyes radiate magic, that even the stars envy
She got the flaws, with her my ego falls
She holds my breath captive, tight in her claws
I tell you
She's the spark that ignites the stars
And the smile that carves the moon
I met her in summer school,
A couple of years ago
She said her name was Pretty
Like herself so was she named
Pretty, she was
Fragile, was her heart
Innocent, was her soul
Pity, I felt for myself
But I am the captain of the team,
And she's a nerd,
A beautiful nerd,
Like fire and water
In society we'd never mix
Her voice so mellow
Whispered to my heart
And the strings ached in a rhythm unheard
The beats of my heart
We're nothing but a symphonic orchestra
Yet she had just said "Hello"
Made me feel like dragging her to the other side of me
And tell her she was worth a thousand poems
But no word was worth her
Priceless, priceless, priceless,
Was the word that oozed into my brain,
Intoxicating my thoughts into madness,
She was a golden noose,
That I willfully tied around my neck
That I caressed with my heart hanging heavy,
I closed my eyes,
And drowned my thoughts with her,
And tipped the stool that separated me from life,
I let myself swim in fantasy, with no floaters aboard
I was ready to let my soul drown
Let it succumb to the smile of her eyes
Let it beg for death
For I felt it too sinful,
To withstand the radiance of such an angel
Pricking thorns
I knew I'd hold,
Before I got to the flower,
And the petals above
For her I was ready to walk the mile
I was ready to keep awake, just to see her smile
Confessions, confessions
My life was no whole,
Till she came and filled a hole in me
And I couldn't replace the atoms,
I couldn't change that chemistry,
The impulse of her collision,
Like two objects in the blue skies,
Let out thunder,
And lightning
Anew.
Magic was bred in her,
Cause she led me into
Uttering insane incantations,
Of a love untold
But a love that the world,
Would never have,
But this wild beauty could never be tamed,
Not by men, old and new,
She blossomed,
She bloomed,
She shook us all,
I couldn't be with her,
God knows I couldn't,
Last time I heard,
She'd really moved the world,
With her perfection,
With her emotion,
I still feel a little sad,
When I think about all we could have been,
How perfect we could have merged
How two totally different pieces of a puzzle,
Would fit together,
So Pretty,
If you are reading this...thanks
